Masked gunmen fatally shoot 18 oil, gas workers in IraqÂ

Masked gunmen shot dead 18 oil and gas workers, most of them Iranians, in northeastern Iraq Friday. 

Medical and local sources tell Reuters the incident occurred in the Iraqi town of Muqdadiya.  

Fifteen of the workers were from Iran and three were from Iraq. The group was apparently attacked as they dug a trench to extend a gas pipeline, Muqdadiya's mayor told Reuters.
